In many ways, my generation has had it relatively “easy” by comparison, although some might propose that the Vietnam War (due to its duration and polarizing effects) and the 9/11 attacks might rival COVID-19 in their paradigm-shifting impact. A system is a whole with interrelated parts that work to achieve the aim of the system.
