Since I have been in the other driver’s position, encountering a snow drift on my side of the road while the other driver has basically clear pavement, I was aware that they were in a position where they might feel a little out of control. Often their emotional or physical state has nothing to do with us.

I do know that Lysacek understood the rules of the game he was playing better than Plushenko. What, you might ask, has any of this got to do with the topic of this blog?
