Since I have been in the other driver’s position, encountering a snow drift on my side of the road while the other driver has basically clear pavement, I was aware that they were in a position where they might feel a little out of control. We might be in a great place emotionally or physically in comparison to them.

Just for comparison, take a look at the definitions of victim and victor: vic·tim (n.) The battle is to overcome my own self-limiting thoughts and emotional responses. He is an engineer by nature, by training, and experience. Playing the victim, blaming others, and looking for others to fix our situation are futile efforts.
