We came up with a cover letter to go with the shirt, personally signed by me, and then, at our weekly management conference calls, I started to hand them out. The smiles were golden – even the ones I couldn’t “see”, but could virtually sense, on the other ends of the conference lines. Wait a minute. I know what we need!

In my “door-less&# society, I would find a way to have those discussions privately; in fact, sometimes I find it’s better to go “off site&# or to a “neutral&# conference room, because it can promote a more open discussion. Of course, it still doesn’t help productivity any! All the best to you both!
