I suspect most of them have something to do with internal politics, bureaucracy, or perhaps a belief that the more complicated or obscure the language, the more important the message. So how might we go about establishing this straight talk environment? There are probably a lot of reasons for this.

Select one (or at the most two), and hammer away at it with all your ability. Align your environment. Much of the time our environment, if not entirely responsible, is at least an accomplice in who we are, what we do, and how we behave. Resist this temptation. Focus is the key. Take immediate action.

The business environment may change, but no management trend can displace the core laws, proven over centuries, of excellent leadership. During the presentation the CEO was polite, if noncommittal.
