I guess you could say that I think it’s important for managers to learn and use coaching skills as part of their leadership tool kit. Let’s call using coaching skills “short term pain for long term gain”. Like a lot of things in life and in leadership, coaching others well isn’t easy and it isn’t quick.

Perseverance is the act of persisting despite forces that keep you from achieving your goal. Your ability to persevere, to be that shining light who leads others through the swamp may be the only thing that will make the goal possible. Probably it would be hard for those born with short temper. I’ve seen it happen!
