Yesterday, more than 250,000 US State Department documents obtained by Wikileaks appeared online. And today, much of the talk around “Cablegate” (so named because reports from US embassies to Washington have long been called cables) is about how such a huge security breach could ever have happened. Some pundits think it shows that America is not being careful enough with its sensitive digital information. On the MSNBC TV show “Morning Joe” this morning, for example, the hosts wondered “how do we have a security system that can be so easily breached?”
