While l ove and leadership are certainly two words you don’t often hear in the same sentence, I can assure you that rarely does great leadership exist without love being present and practiced. If efficiency starts diluting productivity rather than increasing it something is woefully amiss. What I want you to recognize is that sometimes the least efficient thing can be lead to the most productive outcome. I really don’t have a problem with increasing efficiency so long as the tail doesn’t start wagging the dog.

The gist of the argument seems to be that for teams to be productive, employees have to feel “empowered by having an equal voice. And as odd as it may sound, one of the greatest impediments to building productive teams is practicing management by consensus. I can sum-up my feeling on this in one word… ridiculous.

So, quality is a moving target – each time a customer comes back to you, you need to deliver similar or better quality (of products, services and experience), you need to demonstrate improvement, care enough about them, stay on top of market trends and keep changing the rules of the game (innovation).
