And it is managers’ ability to innovate, collaborate and adapt to a constantly changing environment that are the leadership skills we most need to develop. In 2011, when the NY Giants won the Super Bowl, they held debriefings 1-2 days after every game to understand what did and didn’t work. Create a learning environment. Expectations should be set so people know that learning is what’s most important — not one’s position on the org chart.
