Why I realize we cannot all be entrepreneurial in the sense that we can’t all start our own companies, I believe we can all be entrepreneurial in terms of how we approach our careers. Find your own market niche. Look for market needs that everyone else may not have considered. This is critical! Be creative.

In order to have a successful and satisfying career in executive coaching, you’ve got to understand the business side of coaching (or you’ve got to partner with someone who does) and you’ve got to market yourself. Find your own market niche. Look for market needs that everyone else may not have considered.

I have been generally well regarded throughout my career for building extremely effective teams, and what I can share with you is that team building is not about equality at all. It reminds me of Drucker’s first rule of decision making: one does not make a decision unless there is disagreement. Consensus isn’t the goal.
