Earlier this week, the venerable, by-invitation-only Augusta National Golf Club finally decided to let two women join its illustrious ranks: former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and South Carolina businesswoman Darla Moore. Now approximately .6% of its 300-some members are female. Is there any historic importance to what Golf.com’s Michael Bamberger describes as “an elite private club admitting two women of tremendous privilege”? For female leaders and those aspiring to be, the answer is a resounding yes.
