Firms spend money on happiness coaches, team-building exercises, gameplays, funsultants, and Chief Happiness Officers (yes, you’ll find one of those at Google ). The researchers asked their subjects to watch a film that would usually make them happy — a figure skater winning a medal. The other half did not.
