We spend time dreaming up other ways to get around the stringent rules set out for us; and somewhere in all of that, productivity, and certainly dignity, and a sense of accomplishment are lost. Then again, there may be times when an authoritative style of leadership is called for. Not a pretty picture.

And, that’s when they get in the way of building healthy productive relationships and workplaces. Having said all that, I think it important to say too, that casual conversations can go from being constructive and helpful to divisive and destructive if you’re not careful.
