All that was needed was some toilet paper, a storm-proof butane lighter, and a knife so sharp that it went through wood like butter. Each team was made up of five participants, three able and two disabled, and we had to choose two team members to run the first leg. Our goal, we reminder ourselves, was to finish the race, not to win.
