I am glad I did, because this book instantly made it to my favorite books in 2010 which also includes Seth Godin’s Linchpin. The messages in this book are so powerful that when I was reading it, I was compelled to take short breaks to reflect on what I had just read. The book is sub-titled “ Set Your Own Rules.

Seth Godin covers this concept nicely in his book Tribes. I think about the things I manage (personal finances, household, a team of people). Leader, on the other hand, implies someone who’s out in front setting the direction for a group or an an organization. The leader focuses on moving towards a higher, more valuable goal.

Accounting/Finance: This group is often completely ignored by product management. The sales people who “get it&# will feed critical information back to product management to improve the products, but they will not expect things to change overnight or for their next sale.

Bold and bombastic does not, in my opinion, mean leadership – we have so many of these aggressive people in power today and all they do is yak, yak, yak and fill their bank accounts. " If only someone in power could hear that!!! Why do we crave leadership nowadays? Because there is so little of it around!
