Self-Serving Nature : If a leader doesn’t understand the concept of “service above self&# they will not engender the trust, confidence, and loyalty of those they lead. Successful leaders focus on customer satisfaction and loyalty. They are active listeners, fluid thinkers, and know when to press-on and when to back-off.

Some employers believe in providing a little something extra to all employees during the Holiday Season as an expression of gratitude for their loyalty and contributions during the year without regard to performance. I personally dont feel bonuses work to promote a good work ethic. An idividual either has it or doesnt.

Therefore, our loyalty to the company rises, and we are more productive. Those vital employees in the business world might include the IT guy, the receptionist, the mailroom manager, the ethics adviser and the secretary to the Board of Directors. In the business world are those staff people who make us feel more like family.

The public is fickle and quick to jump on the newest flavor, without showing loyalty to the old ones, especially those who are truly original. Truth and ethics must be woven into how you conduct business. This too is your challenge to frame how they see you and your company. Fame is fleeting and artificial.
