B usiness Model Generation caught my eye in a book store in December – It is rare I find myself in book stores anymore given how many books are sent to me as a blogger and my preference in reading on Kindle or IPad. I could see there was something new about this book and how the authors thought about business models.

Should the old business stick around or should it be shut down? Too often, startup CEOs cling to old business models as their reason for success, when in reality it was their innovation and risk-taking that helped them succeed in the first place. The Miller heritage could not be lost, particularly because his founding products were innovative for their time. Bezos’ ambitions were as large as the company name, and he eventually developed a business model that would include far more than books. Miller Felpax had been family owned since its inception more than 60 years ago.
