The short answer is yes…There are in fact a great number of tests that can quickly assess leadership ability. Poor Communication Skills : Show me a leader with poor communication skills and I’ll show you someone who will be short-lived in their position. Bottom line…unproven leaders come with a high risk premium.

The reason this is such a great question is that I’ve witnessed far too many executives confuse vision and mission in terms of both definition and application. Our responsibility is to respect the ethic. Furthermore, the enduring anchor of an organization is found in its values and ethics, not its mission.

I don’t know about you, but it’s almost as if we have raised a generation of leaders who feel they have a moral and ethical obligation to be politically correct – WRONG. Even the term change, a concept once reserved for the innovative and revolutionary, has been hi-jacked by the politically correct.
