Instead of pulling others up, many managers choose to push people down. The corporate world is littered with managers but lack leaders. Over the course of may career, I only had one manager who was a leader. It is a rare individual who excels in both managing and leading. Your most valuable asset is your people.

In recent days I’m re-listening to Good to Great by Jim Collins. Collins’ definition is simple: “Level 5 leaders blend the paradoxical combination of deep personal humility with intense professional will.” This is, as Collins puts it, a “study in duality.” So can you and I become a Level 5 leader?
