Flipping it into “we” language might be: “I intend to create a workplace that is supportive of all our needs, be it related to finances, health, or wellbeing.” After applying these tactics in three separate meetings, reflect upon those meetings and conversations—see if you notice a difference in how they went compared to how they usually go.

True self-confidence is reflected in a person’s deeds and actions, and not in their ability to boast. I would much rather listen to the self-deprecating humor of a confident person making fun of themselves than the mean spirited attacks of an arrogant person waged at someone else’s expense.

Sad but true…real talent won’t be attracted to, or remain engaged with leaders who operate on fear-based tactics. Leaders who attempt to use command and control tactics without the necessary underpinnings of real leadership principles will simply not do well. Loyalty matters… What say you?
