One of the largest barriers in several organizations is that many managers still tend to think using hierarchical paradigms. Targets, management on result, and control remain the magic words. Roughly speaking, a network organization is about communities and community management, raising the question of how you build communities. Then the community managers. In case you haven’t noticed, a business can make good use of a blog. But blogging is a venture that takes skill all on its own. If you want to look like a pro, you have to blog like a pro. The visual style of a blog has to have a certain uniqueness to it. Even with images heading blogs, you should take care to personalise them. Not just because they can lend the blog credibility. In today’s post I’ll deal with a skill set that all successful CEOs excel at…managing board relations. I was recently asked the following question: “What is the difference between CRM and CEM, or is there any difference between the two? In a previous post I addressed the practice of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) in fairly great detail. The initial concept behind CRM was to integrate experience with management, which was a great idea, but in all practicality, rarely exists in most companies. mikemyatt: RT @thinkBIG_blog: Cheap always costs you mo.

M INTZBERG’S 20th book, Bedtime Stories for Managers , is a thought-provoking page-turner. (In The stories—a collection or repurposed blog posts —are meant to be pondered. The theme running through most is that managers/leaders need to get out from behind their desks and see the world from the perspective of their employees and customers. To this end, he dedicates the book to “all those managers who eat the scrambled eggs to help their organization work like a cow.”
